My morning was a bit chaotic, but I had two of my good friends, Bec and Laura, to keep me company. There was loads of rushing around, phone calls, and a bit of stress too, but hey - what is a wedding without a few complications? Thankfully, these complications could be sorted with minimal hassle. I was so grateful to have Bec and Laura helping me make sure my morning went smoothly. I honestly do owe them.
My lovely bouquet and heels. Both are from trusty eBay. I fell in love with the bouquet as soon as I saw it, I just knew that I had to have it and that I would work my theme around it. My heels I also fell in love with at first sight. I have had a fascination with bows for quite some time and I loved the idea of a pop of colour under my dress. I knew that they had to be mine. I also had a small white clutch handbag that I had purchased that morning with Bec and Laura. I had to have one to hold my asthma inhalers. Yes, I was that unlucky to have my asthma flare up just days before Nathan and I's special day.
Doing my own makeup. I was definitely a bride on a budget, and a very tight one at that. I had my hair styled for under $100 at Hairy Rumours (note: great for styling, not so great with hair colouring).
I think I did quite a good job, if I say so myself. It was at this point of time that I started to first feel those tiny butterflies fluttering around in my tummy. The nerves were definitely kicking in. My mother did help me calm down quite a bit by telling me that I had nothing to be nervous about, which was true. I was going to marry the man I loved, what was there to be nervous about?
My sisters and I. From left to right: Crystal, Ashley and Jaime-Lee. Crystal and Ashley were both my bridesmaids and Jaime-Lee was my maid of honour. I felt so blessed to have my sisters help share such an important moment of my life. It was shortly after this photo that we all headed outside and a family photo of my parents, my sisters and I was taken. My father mentioned how it was our last family photo as all McDonald's; I honestly cried. Thankfully my make up was waterproof!
After what felt like an enternity in the car, it was finally time for me to get out. Why did it take so long? We left at what I thought was a suitable time from my sisters house (it takes at least 25 minutes to get to the gardens from her house), but I was wrong. Despite the invitation saying 3pm for the start of the ceremony, people were still arriving. So we made a slight detour and went to the jetty for a bit, where we took some photos, talked and I had a few people come to wish me luck. There was this one particular elderly lady who seemed very pleased to see a bride on her big day, she even wished me good luck, which I thought was very kind of her to do so.
My handsome nephews Jayke and Cooper. These two little men are only a few months apart in age. They have taught me so much in their few short years of life so far.
My precious daughter Chloe. She decided that she didn't want to wear a clip in her hair. You can see the cheekiness written all over her face. She looked so beautiful on the day, pink is very much so her colour.
My sister Crystal, Chloe up in the front bending, my niece Violet holding Crystal's hand and my niece Sienna. All of them are very beautiful girls. Sienna's shoes unfortunately didn't fit her, but I loved the little shoes she wore instead, so it was no drama at all.
Butterflies were fluttering around like crazy right now! My heart rate definitely inclined and the nerves were in full force. This was it, I was on my way to meet my husband to be at the end of the aisle. My poor dad had his top lip swell up the day before. According to my mother he said he did not want to look like a freak at his daughters wedding and ruin her photos, I thought he looked fine.
Our amazing celebrant Betsy, my husband to be, his best man Dion and Nathan's two brothers Daniel and Jarrad. I have actually known Betsy for quite some time now. She was, in fact, my sister Crystal's kindergarten teacher.
My bridesmaids and maid of honour. So many people thought that it was odd that they were not going to have bouquets, I like to think that seeing them up there like this changed their minds. I thought the parasols were a perfect touch for a garden wedding in the spring time.
Nathan's father, my father, myself and Chloe, Nathan, my mother and Nathan's mother. Our parents and their babies all grown up!
We were actually laughing during this photo. We had so many emotions racing through our minds. We both could not stop smiling.
At the jetty. Just gazing into my husbands eyes. I seriously could not get over the fact that what had happened was real, and that we were actually married!
The bridal party. We did get some shots at the gardens, but they did not turn out so well, which was a shame but these things happen.
Dadda, Bubba and Mumma Henderson! There are so many other photographs that I would have loved to have post, but I may just save those for another time. I honestly would not change much about Nathan and I's special day. If I could pick just two things, it would be me being asthma free and my dress. I had owned my wedding dress for quite some time and had to slim down after having my daughter to fit back into it. I actually ended up losing too much weight and my dress was a bit big on me, even with the mother in law's handy work. Those little details do not bother me though, the main (and important) thing, was that Nathan and I finally became husband and wife.
It was such a wonderful day, and night too, I wish I could relive it again and again. The best that I can do is to watch it (we had it filmed) but until my discs are ready, the best I can do is look back at photos and remember the happy memories that go along with them.
